All that is needed is for the couple to attend the local registry office with two witnesses and a brief and formal ceremony. It costs approximately £50. 

This process can be carried out at anytime either before of after your celebrant ceremony.  A wedding should be personified to you, your belief, your values and your personality.  The registration ceremony is just a legal formality
